I want to start by saying that nothing that I can say in this review is going to be able to express my gratitude enough for the staff of Nantiki. They are so friendly and thoughtful and go above and beyond what is expected for a vacation rental. I never expected to receive the service that we did when I booked this beautiful property. The pictures show what the property looks like and the ammenities that it offers, but doesn’t come close to giving the justice that it deserves. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words…well I’m going to give you about 5000 letters for what the pictures are lacking. My husband and I got married in Gulf Shores on July 14, 2012 and although I would have loved to come a couple of days earlier to relax and prepare, the property wasn’t available until the day of the wedding…I’m sure because once you come here…YOU WILL BE BACK!! Anyway, traffic was horrible and we were late getting there, which Rich advised me to make sure I got to Gulf Shores before 1:00 pm to avoid this issue (I’m going to be late to my own funeral), so we had about 2 hours to decorate and get ready before the wedding. HOW IN THE WORLD ARE WE GOING TO PULL THIS OFF??…that is what I was thinking. We had rented 2 of the 3 houses, one for the bridal party and family and one for the grooms party and family. Well, as the grooms house is calm and relaxed with his family, who had come from Colombia, South America, various parts of Florida, New Jersey, and New York…the brides house, not so much. We had brought a Murano, Tahoe, and a Mustang totally loaded with reception decorations and supplies needed for the wedding. Plus, me, 4 bridesmaids, and my mother still needed to get ready. To be honest, I really can’t tell you much about the events of preparation because I felt like I was moving in vampire speed with a million people asking me questions from every direction, but what I can tell you is that I never stepped out of the house to set up a single thing outside. I was supposed to tell the caterer where to set up everything, as well as where the bar should go, and where the cakes should be set up. I couldn’t tell you which staff member did what because I never asked any of them to do anything, but their willingness to help when they saw that help was DEFINITELY needed, saved my reception. They were on top of everything!!! When we came back to the houses from the ceremony, everything was so beautiful!!! The entire reception had been set up!! Rich took it upon himself to become our reception director for the evening, which I can’t thank him enough for doing that. He made sure that the normal events for a reception (first dance, father/daughter and mother/son dance, cutting of the cake, throwing the bouquet and garter, etc.) were accomplished. I never expected this of him, but am extremely grateful for picking up the ball where I totally dropped it!! I did not bring enough tequila or margarita mix, so Rich even went as far as to go get those items during the reception. They also offered a complimentary shuttle service for our guests to and from their vehicles. I know that I am forgetting a ton of things that were done for us, but if it wasn’t for the exceptional staff, our reception would have been a complete disaster!! The next day, Tim cleaned the property and restored it to its’ immaculate and perfectly-manicured condition. He even went the extra mile and cleaned the many dishes that were used for the catered food so that I could relax and enjoy our stay. Cricket took several pictures of the reception and from what I understand is putting together a scrapbook for us. How cool is that?? Oh yeah!!…my husband lost his wedding ring the next day (I know, I know) and, after searching for several hours, I called Rich to see if he had a metal detector or knew of a place that rented them, and he sent one of his friends over to help us look. We never found it, but would you ever expect, much less receive, that kind of service from a hotel? I think not!! If you are nervous about booking a vacation rental online without laying your eyes on it firsthand, DON’T BE!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! The property is beautiful, the houses are clean and feel like home, and the staff is indescribable!! They go out of their way to make your vacation as relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. I have stayed at 5-star hotels and resorts and they don’t come ANYWHERE close to matching the level of service that you will receive at Nantikis!! To give you a better clue…my husband was so impressed that he wanted to buy the property and made me inquire about it…seriously!! I know that we will be back for another vacation very soon…if we can get in, because I think they are booked until October. If you are visiting the Gulf Shores area, this is DEFINITELY the place to stay!!! Again, I would like to thank the staff of Nantikis for their EXTRAORDINARY service!! You made our wedding day PERFECT!!!!

I’ve stayed at numerous locations in the Orange Beach/ Gulf Shores area, and Nantiki has now become my favorite spot! We spent our 4th of July holiday with Richard and his crew and enjoyed every minute of it! Richard and his crew are always available to their guests and go above and beyond to accommodate your every wish and make certain that your stay is as great as it can possibly be. We had a group of 14 of all ages and we all had our favorite things to do at Nantiki. From the games, the volleyball court, pool, bicycles, and tiki huts with video games, there was never a dull moment. And the beach is a very short walk or bike ride away. I would highly recommend NANTIKI for a GREAT VACATION!!! Can not wait to go back!

The photos and descriptions don’t do this resort the justice it deserves. We had a group of 12 and stayed in the St. Lucia. Not only was everything accurate to the description (the pool, the cabanas, the hammocks, even the miniature tiki men) but arriving to the Nantikis resort was like asking for a stuffed animal on Christmas and opening your present to find an 8 week old black labrador puppy. It was better than you could even expect. Richard does a phenomenal job providing a relaxing, beautiful get-away as well as providing a multitude of amenities to actively enjoy vacation. The volleyball court was by far the best aspect of the property in my opinion, especially if you like to be active on spring break. It even has a spring board beneath the sand. It made for a great social activity as by the first day we had guests from both the other houses playing in games together or watching around the court. If you do spectate though, grab the chairs with the white cushions; they are by far the most comfortable things I have ever used. Richard is one of the friendliest people you’ll meet. He stopped by several times throughout our stay and spent some time talking with us and giving us advice on where eat and what to do in town. The house was also very tidy and clean. It slept 12 people very comfortably. The property could literally be used for any type of vacation ranging from a large family reunion vacation to a college spring break trip to a couple families planning a spring break together. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy their rental location so much that they have a heard time even leaving the property to go to the beach that’s just across the street! Thank you again Richard!!

My family & our Precious Furbaby Bella had a wonderful vacation here. It felt like we were at a Resort in the Caribbean. We stayed in the St. Lucia house which is my favorite. It was decorated so beautifully. Very nice furniture, not like the cheap beach furniture you usually see in rentals. The grounds were so beautiful & clean. Trees & Plants were gorgeous. Loved the Shuffleboard & Ring on the string games. I sat in the swing watching everyone play. So peaceful & beautiful. My husband & daughter rode the bikes one day & I didn’t get on my bike until it was time to leave, so I rode it back to the shop. Now I am wishing I would have rode that day with them. LOL! Richard was an Amazing host. We will definitely be back, if we can get in. 🙂 Only negative is Having to leave, WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER!!! Thanks again Richard for everything. Enjoyed talking with you & your place is like a little Paradise! 🙂

First off I want to thank Richard for making our stay WONDERFUL. From the moment we drove up to this beautiful “retreat”. He was there to show us around. He even gave us a private tour of the town and fun little shops near by on his golf cart. We have 6 kids, ranges 8-17 and Nantiki was packed with things for them to do, when they weren’t at the beach! The beach was was a short 5 min walk away..and when the kids got tired of enjoying the waves, they would come back and then swim for another 3 hours in the pool! They also LOVED all the games he had available. The “ring” game kept them occupied for hours! He also taught them how to play shufffle board and now we are putting both the ring game and the shuffle board in our backyard this week! They became addicted! We spent lots of time on the beach vollypart court as well, play vollyball as a family. My husband and I loved being able to send them outside when we weren’t at the beach, and know they were either swimming, playing games, or enjoying the hammocks. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the hammocks as well, and enjoying the pool. I loved the sand on the vollyball court, as it was REAL beach sand! It was cool underfeet and so soft! The house itself was SO beautiful. The outside has an awesome wrap around porch and we loved being able to sit outside at night, watch the kids swim and we just kick up our feet on one of the many chairs and lounge chairs he had around the property. We also utulized the BBQ area to cook dinner. The inside of the house was SO clean and had penty of space for the 8 of us! Infact we could have each let our kids bring a friend and we still would have had room in the house! Tons of beds! The masterbedroom was awesome. We have a really nice bed at home and whenever we travel I always DREAD the hard beds we sleep in. This bed was heaven! Soft as can be! Truly Richard has thought of everything in his Nantiki oasis! We also enjoyed hanging out in the Nantiki hut, reading books, watching movies, and just sipping lemonade. While the nanitiki huts had XBox, Playstations and the Wii in them, I was overjoyed that my kids actually rather enjoyed playing the pool, the vollyball courts and playing the ring game and shuffle board! I have 5 boys, and one girl and my boys are always on their electronic games. So I was SO happy that the other activies Richard has on the grounds, really gave them an interest in actually “Playing”. This was one of the best vacations ever! We will be back!
